Providing Competitive Services
The development of the services for quality, reliability, range and competitiveness.
The Brunei International Airport and Muara Port will continue to improve the passenger
and cargo handling services. The rates and tariffs will be reviewed to make the services
more competitive in the region. "Payment under one roof" at Muara Port
and Custom Clearance Services through EDI are two major service development to be
introduced.
The air and sea passage and navigational services will continue to be available and
made safe.
The range of support services will be expanded to include competitive fueling and
bunkering services at the port and airport. "Cargo Village" and "Airport
City" are two concepts of development at the Brunei International Airport. Muara
Export Zone will promote transhipment and re-export.
The public transport system will be reviewed and improvementswill be made to provide
services that would be convenient, timely, safe and fulfilling. Public bus services
franchise similar to the "Central Line" and "Circle Line" will
be issued to other areas and zones.
The telecommunication industry will move toward providing services any time, any
where and any place. The range of services will be made comprehensive such as to
include fast file transfer capabilities and the associated services to integrate
into the Global Information Infrastructure (GII). BruNet / Internet services through
EDI will be introduced.
The postal services will provide a wider range of counter services ranging from payment
of bills to renewal of licenses as well as other new products to be developed. The
"One Stop Business Center" at post office which will provide a multi-services
counter for the payment of bills, registrations and licensing.
