BIT Council	Press Release THE HONOURABLE MINISTER OF COMMUNICATIONS TO ATTEND THE AVIATION LEADERSHIP SUMMIT & SINGAPORE AIRSHOW 2008 17^th - 20^th FEBRUARY 2008, SINGAPORE Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Communications will attend the Singapore Aviation Leadership Summit and the Singapore Airshow 2008 to be held from 17^th – 20^th February 2008 in Singapore. Also joining the delegation of the Minister are Director of Civil Aviation as well as senior officers from the Ministry of Communications. The Aviation Leadership Summit was organized by Singapore in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Among the key issues to be highlighted during the Summit are those related to key areas such as sustainability, security and the environment. Held in conjunction with the Summit is the inaugural Singapore Airshow 2008 which serves as a global networking platform for the aerospace community. These events will be attended by Ministers responsible for civil aviation, Chief Executives from airline companies, civil aviation authorities as well as key players in the aerospace and defence industry. Both the Summit and the Airshow provide a rare opportunity for the key players and stakeholders to meet and engage freely over a dialogue on major developments, strategies and challenges in the aviation industry.
