Celebrating Hari Raya Korban
Ceremony
On 12th January 2006, the
Ministry of Communications and its departments held a Korban Ceremony
which was coordinated by the Land Transport Department. The chief
guest at the event was the Deputy Minister of Communications, Dato Paduka
Awang Haji Yusoff bin Haji Abdul Hamid. Also present were the
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohd Yusof bin
Haji Hassan, Head of Departments and other Senior Officials from the
Ministry and Departments under it.
The function began with the chief guest slaughtering the livestock. It
followed by giving away the sacrificial meat to the officers and staff
of the ministry and departments under it.
To bless the ceremony, Surah Al-Fatihah and Takbir Hari Raya Aidil Adha
were conducted. Also held was a special talk on the Feast of
Sacrifice by Ustaz Mohd Adi Zaki from Pusat Dakwah Islamiah. There
were some 250 officers and staffs of the Ministry and Departments under it
attended the function.
